I cannot share this enough. As we enter into Thanksgiving, we often wonder for what we have to be thankful. Well, here’s a though provoking vignette to get you thinking.
If you reduced the world’s population down to 1,000 people, only 46 would be Americans. Those 46 people would receive half of the income of the total population. Those 46 would have an average life expectancy of 75 years, whereas the rest of the 954 people would live about 40 years. Those 46 would eat about 70% above the daily food requirement while the the other 954 would never eat a balanced meal.
I am confident that we will fix to-go plates, feast on leftovers in the days following, & even throw something away that we did not get around to eating in a timely manner. One thing is for certain, we will not go hungry this Thanksgiving.
Be thankful for being so blessed this Thanksgiving, & attempt to be a blessing to someone else. Have a safe, blessed, & happy Thanksgiving.
